3rd Annual Honza Fantasy Football Golf Tournament

On August 19th 2011, the 3rd annual Honza Fantasy Football Golf Tournament was held.  The tournament format called for a best ball but with 3 kicks, 3 throws, and 3 feet of string to play with.  The first team teed off at 11:00 and play began.  The groups were as follows:

Allan, Dan, and Landry

Gary, Jeff B., and Phillip

Dave O., Josh, and Matt

Brandon, Dave H., and Jeff H.

Halfway through the tournament, Brandon, Dave, and Jeff H shot a 27 on the front to hold a 3 stroke lead over the next team, and a 5 stroke lead over the other two teams.  However, things would drastically change on the back nine.  All good luck was gone from the leaders who went from a 3 stroke lead finishing in a 3 way tie for second with a total score of 60.  The winners would go 7 under on the back nine to shoot a 58.  Congratulations to Allan, Dan, and Landry on their victory. 

Other Notable Occurrences

• Dave threw a ball off the 8th green into the hole to record the first 1 in tournament history.  Since Jeff hit the shot to the fringe, he scores a hole in one.  
• Matt dropped his pants and mooned Brandon, Dave, and Jeff while hanging off the side of his golf cart (his Dad was driving).  This earned him the "Jackass" award.  
• Jeff Honza burned rubber in his golf cart.  Unfortunately, it was on the tee box of the 4th tee, leaving a major burn mark.  Without Matt's outburst, Jeff might have won the above award.

Other Awards Time:

• Landry won the longest drive award, after hitting a drive 270 yards on hole 7.  
• Dan won the closest to the pin award, by hitting his shot 12 feet from the hole.  This is the 3rd time in 3 years, and this award will now be called "The Ragan".  (Until someone wins it 4 times in a row)
